You know it's the best time of year (one of them, anyway) in Utah when you start to see signs on the side of the road advertising peaches.  At least, that's the way I look at it..... And I'm pretty sure I can think of one trillion ways to enjoy them.  (Or at least one hundred.  Really.)  Most of them involve real whipped cream.
Get your peaches LOCAL!!
Here is a list of Farmer's Markets in Utah that even accept SNAP benefits:  Markets.
Pick them yourself!  Here's a list of U-Pick farms:  U-Pick.
Don't forget the Roadside Produce Stands!  Here's a list:  Stands.

Fresh, ripe peaches are so sweet and delicious, they truly need no accompaniment.  However, if you're going to make something - all you really need are a few staple items from your pantry and fridge.

Might I suggest incorporating whole grains into your creation?  Believe it or not, dessert is a great time for whole grains!  It works especially well because of the blend of sweet flavors with the rich taste of whole grains.  Keeping your pantry stocked with whole grain flours and oats and follow the simple steps below and you can throw together a sweet treat at a moment's notice.  I would also keep handy a quick recipe for whole wheat pie crust:

2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp salt
2 tsp white sugar

Pre-heat oven to 400 degress F.  Mix ingredients and press into a pie pan.  Poke holes in bottom and on sides of crust.  Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until light brown.  Ready to use with the pie filling of your choice!
